Description
English: West side of the Rök Stone (Ög 136). Rök Church in the background. The rune stone - covered with nearly 750 runes - was raised in the 9th century AD by Varin in memory of his dead son Vämod. The Rök Stone is also one of several Historical Sites in trust of the Swedish National Heritage Board. Format: Glass plate negative
Svenska: Västra sidan av Rökstenen (Ög 136). Röks kyrka i bakgrunden. Runstenen - täckt av närmare 750 runor - restes på 800-talet e. Kr. av Varin till minne av hans döde son Vämod. Rökstenen är också en av många historiska sevärdheter som vårdas och visas av Riksantikvarieämbetet.
