Description Réplica do Demoiselle, avião projetado e construído pelo inventor brasileiro Santos Dumont. O primeiro modelo, o Demoiselle II foi construído em 1907, mas não conseguiu voar, o avião foi sendo desenvolvido até 1909, com o Demoiselle IV obtendo êxito em voar, o avião continuou a ser aprimorado, o Demoiselle VI foi o aparelho que Santos Dumont fez os seus mais duradouros e extraordinários voos em avião. O Demoiselle VII não voou. Capotou no dia 23 de novembro de 1909 em Issy-les-Moulineaux, ao tentar decolar com motor Clément-Bayard de 40 cavalos-vapor. Em 4 de janeiro de 1910, o aviador sofreu outro acidente: no voo de estréia do Demoiselle VIII, uma das asas se rompeu, e o avião caiu de 30 metros de altura. Santos Dumont surpreendentemente não teve mais que um machucado na cabeça, mas o episódio marcou o fim de sua carreira aeronáutica como piloto. Os "Demoiselle" foram os menores e mais baratos aviões de sua época. A intenção de Santos Dumont era que essas aeronaves fossem fabricadas em larga escala e com isso popularizar a aviação, não registrando a sua patente. O inventor disponibilizava as plantas para quem se interessasse, pelo menos quarenta unidades foram construídas. O Demoiselle é considerado o primeiro avião ultraleve da história da aviação.
