Description
English: DPD/Aug.49, A04aQuwwat-ul-Islam mosque is close to the Qutub tower. It was originally built in 1191 A.D. by Qutb-ud-din aibek, the founder of sleve dynasty in India. Aitmash and Ala-ud-din khilji, made additions to it. In 1398 timur visited this mosque and thereafter it fell into ruins qutb-ud-din employed Hindu workmen so the carvings and architecture in the original part is different from the additions made afterwards. The square stone pillars of this mosque shown in the picture were taken by Qutb-u-din from some Hindu temples. Photo Number:-10783
