Description
Deutsch: Kaiser Joseph II. (13. März 1741–20. Februar 1790) litt an Tuberkulose. Beim dargestellten Abschied von seinen engsten Mitarbeitern und Vertrauten in der Wiener Hofburg (heutige Präsidentschaftskanzlei) handelt es ich um eine Inszenierung des Künstlers. Links Büsten von Josephs Eltern Franz I. und Maria Theresia, hinten Porträts der beiden andern aufgeklärten Despoten Katharina II. von Russland und Friedrich II. von Preußen.
