Description
Italiano: Questo esemplare di Quercia vallonea (nome scientifico:Quercus ithaburensis Decaisne, sottospecie Macrolepis) vive a Tricase, nel Salento. La sua carta d’identità ci dice che ha un’età di 800 anni, ma in realtà è più giovane, 600!!), la circonferenza del tronco è di 4, 25 metri e la sua chioma copre una superficie di circa 750 mq. Viene denominata Quercia dei Cento Cavalieri perché, alla fine del XII secolo, secondo la leggenda, costituì riparo con la sua ombra a Federico II e la sua Corte.
