BARRON FALLS IN DRY SEASON. Height, 700 Feet. The Barron Falls in Flood Time. By A. Meston. (From the Qtteenslander of 1S85.) ) I (HE present article describes the falls during the highest floodin the Barron for seven years. Byron says that no picturecan give us an idea of the ocean, and no word painting can give aclear outline of the unimaginable scene at the Barron Falls on thefirst three days of the present year (1885.) I find the blacks havethree names for this tremendous cataract— Biboohra, Denden,and Kamerunga. The actual height of the falls is now ascer-tained to be about 700 feet, or 536 feet higher than Niagara. Fromthe edge of the precipice tile river falls 900 feet in half a mile. TheHerberton railway will pass right along the top, and the finest viewof the whole falls will be seen from the carriage windows. Thatview in flood time will have no rival in the known world. Stand back, said the dying Raphael, as the first glories of theworld of spirits appeared to the parting
