Description
English: Looking at the Jackson Avenue West Street Substation (28-20 Jackson Avenue) above the south end of the Queens Plaza IND station, at the northeast corner of Jackson Avenue and Orchard Street / 42nd Road in Queens Plaza, Long Island City, Queens. "West Street" was a short dead-end street between Orchard Street and Queens Boulevard, that was de-mapped (de-stroyed) to create the Jackson Park LIC superblock. Past the station, the express tracks of the IND Queens Boulevard Line curve west away from Jackson Avenue onto 44th Drive, while the local tracks continue under Jackson Avenue to become the IND Crosstown (G) Line.
