English: Quay at Scarborough Old Harbour The trawler in the picture is Maggie M MBE (SH 170), named after Maggie Mainprize, the skipper is Robert Mainprize. (Maggie Mainprize used to run a charity shop in Scarborough, to aid fishermen)
On the port side rail there is a guard sign, probably as the trawler has been used recently on "guard duties", when it hasn't been fishing (such as preventing vessels colliding with North Sea oil and gas platforms or structures). In the foreground on the Quay is a Trawl net. This vessel has the capability of fishing with two trawl nets, side by side. |
