Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Investigating “fine-tuned” universe: effects of changing down quark, up quark and electron masses on atoms and nuclei. In “Neutron worlds” area a proton in a nucleus can capture an orbiting electron and become a neutron or (near edge) protons in nuclei decay spontaneously - atoms are unstable. In “Proton worlds” area the only stable element are atoms of hydrogen (already deuteron is unstable) – heavier elements don't exist. Highlighted dot in green area (there can exist atomic nuclei with orbitals and heavier elements too) is “our” universe - me = 0.5109989461 MeV, md = 4.7 MeV, mu= 2.2 MeV.1 Created according to "Quarks, electrons and atoms in closely related universes.
