Description
Français : L’Europa est un trois-mâts barque à coque d’acier naviguant sous pavillon néerlandais. Il descend du Senator Brockes, un bateau-phare allemand construit en 1911 au chantier naval H.C. Stülcken & Sohn, à Hambourg, en Allemagne. Jusqu’en 1977, le Senator Brockes est en effet utilisé par la Garde côtière fédérale d’Allemagne sur le fleuve Elbe. En 1985, un Néerlandais fait l’acquisition du navire (ou plutôt de ce qui en reste). Débute alors un processus de restauration et de transformation qui s’achève en 1994 : le bateau est devenu un trois-mâts barque qui répond aux exigences particulières d’un voilier-école..L’Europa sillonne la planète et accueille des apprentis matelots dans son équipage (moyennant certains frais) pour de courts ou de longs voyages, notamment des aventures transocéaniques, des courses de Sail Training International, des expéditions annuelles en Antarctique et des voyages de la Géorgie du Sud au Cap, en passant par Tristan da Cunha. .Classe: A.
