Summary
[edit]DescriptionPyrenula macrospora (Degel.) Coppins & P. James 159916.jpg |
Pyrenula macrospora (Degel.) Coppins & P. James Image location: Sintra, Portugal Matches very well with the short description and photos given in Irish lichens for Pyrenula macrospora. The distoseptate spores observed agree with those presented in bioimages for this species. I obtained the following values for their dimensions: (24) 26.7 – 34.3 (36.6) x (9.4) 9.8 – 12.1 (13.9) µm Q = (2.3) 2.5 – 3.2 (3.7) ; N = 24 Me = 30.8 × 10.9 µm ; Qe = 2.8. Another very similar photo can be found in aphotofungi. Used references: Irish lichens, bioimages, aphotofungi. Based on microscopic features: See attached photos. Based on chemical features: See attached photos.
