Description
Suomi: Hangon Itäsatama on ollut suosittu ankkuripaikka (ruotsiksi hang ö) jo myöhäiseltä viikinkiajalta ja asiakirjoissa se on mainittu 1200-luvulta alkaen. Merenkulkijoiden myyttisiä kalliopiirroksia on Itäsataman edustan Hauensuolessa viimeistään 1400-luvulta alkaen. Varhainen puukappeli merenkulkijoille sijaitsi Kappelisatamassa.
English: Hangö (or finnish word Hanko) is a small port town and municipality on the south coast of Finland. There are also over 90 small islands and islets within the city limits. During the viking era and medieval this was a popular harbour because of its good location in the middle of Baltic Sea.
