Summary

[edit]
Description This legless lizard was just sitting on the track. Normally you would expect them to take off if something large like a human approaches. It looks like it might have just swallowed its meal, as part of the body is swollen, which might explain its reluctance to move. On the other hand, maybe that's the difference between its belly and its tail. Common Scaly-Foot (Pygopus lepidopodus). Royal National Park, NSW Australia, April 2010.
