Summary
[edit]DescriptionPycnanthemum muticum (^) left, ^ Ruellia humilis - Flickr - peganum.jpg |
Two uncommon North American types. The Pycnanthemum on the left is known there as Mountain Mint and has a good peppermint fragrance, but I like the flowers. If it does what I hope, it will make sprays of tiny white flowers set off by very pale grey, almost white bracts. This is the first time I've got any seed of this plant to germinate - I've had it from several sources over the years. The Ruellia is one of the hardy temperate representatives of this genus. It does seem to need warmth though to really flower well. |
