| Description |
English: Pwll-y-Merched , Upper Amman Valley Where the Amman Fach and Amman Fawr join, a small pool can be found. This is Pwll-y-Merched, translated as girls pool after two girls drowned there while swimming many years ago.
My father once told me that when he was young, many of the youth of the surrounding area would make the mile long walk to this pool to swim after school on balmy summer evenings. I somehow doubt this happens on a regular basis today. |
