Description

Pvt. Peter Dubray (CP 920), National Museum of Health and Medicine

Description: Private Peter Dubray, Company C, 91st New York volunteers, shows a gunshot wound of his left side, received at the battle of Petersburg, Virginia on April 12th, 1865. Caption reads: “Gunshot wound [flesh] of left side. Pvt. Peter Dubray Co. C, 91st N.Y.”

History is on reverse: "Peter Dubray. Hospital Number 20,869. Peter Dubray, Private, Co. C, 91sts N.Y. Vols., aged 21, was admitted to Harewood U.S.A. Gen’l Hospital, April 19th, 1865, suffering from gun shot wound of left side, near 11th rib, the ball injuring soft parts. Wounded, April 12th, 1865, at the battle of Petersburgh, Va. On admission, the condition of injured parts and constitutional state of patient were good. Doing well. Harewood U.S.A. General Hospital. R.B. Bontecou, Surgeon U.S. Vols., In charge.’”
