Arms of Purefoy of Misterton and w:Fenny Drayton, both in Leicestershire: Quarterly of 4:

  • 1&4: Azure, three stirrups or (unknown family; de Shirford of Shirford, Warwickshire? (an early heiress of Purefoy, see Purefoy pedigree in "FENNY DRAYTON AND THE PUREFEY MONUMENTS", BY GEORGE F(RANCIS) FARNHAM, AND ALBERT HERBERT, published in Transactions of the Leicestershire Archaeological and Historical Society, Vol.14, 1925, pp.84-112[1][2] ; "Purefoy modern"? Possibly the arms Azure, three stirrups or were the arms of de Shirford. (Papworth, John Woody, Alphabetical Dictionary of Coats of Arms Belonging to Families in Great Britain and Ireland, Vol.II, London, 1874, p.1099 "Shereford").
