The Lord of the Treasury affects to comply with theirwish, and preparations are made for a Grand March towards the Streetof Portugal, when the scene suddenly changes, and the troops, closelyfollowing their leader, are brought out opposite the Horse Guards, andthe welcome information is given that they are relieved from theirliabilities. It is then found that the low comic Life Guardsman hasmanaged the plot, for which he immediately receives a commission ; thedeceased Captains daughter marries the Lord of the Treasury, who isfound to be a long lost brother of the Colonel; and as the band of theregiment strikes up Rule Britannia the creditors rush in with theirreceipts, forming a picture of Love, Honour, and Glory, as the Curtainfalls.
