Handwritten on verso of image: The lumber is raised to cars placed under it and carried in tramways to any desired part of the wharf to which vessels of any draft can come with faciltity. Opposite the double circular or frame containing the four saws is a [illeg.] gang saw with equal improved faciltities [illeg.]. Hoisting machines etc, by which lumber can be moved to either machines by the mere application of the sawyers hand or by pushing a lever. There are two filing rooms 12 x 25 over the boiler house and in additional structure 16 x 50 feet provides room for the lath machines. About 4,000,000 ft. of lumber and 400,000 shingles were used in the construction of this mill. The cutting capacity of the mill reach 250.000 ft. per day.
