Español: Puerta del transepto meridional (1240). Fernando III de Castilla y Mauricio (obispo de Burgos), conocían la innovadora arquitectura ojival francesa, debido a los diversos viajes a Alemania para los encuentros con Beatriz de Suabia, futura esposa del rey santo. Esta puerta, cuya traza arquitectónica es atribuible al maestro Enrique, la primitiva de la fábrica catedralicia, presenta una clara filiación artística con la Portada Real de la Catedral de Chartres, con las existentes en la Catedral de Amiens o con la portada del transepto norte de la Catedral de Reims. La composición temática de su soberbio tímpano, al igual que en Pórtico de la Gloria, desarrolla la visión apocalíptica de Cristo Juez, prodigado en la escultura románica. |
