Summary

[edit]
Description This spreading grass, probably a bunchgrass with few stems per bunch, was observed only once growing along the trail in open dry understory. It is Puccinellia-like in having spikelets consistently appressed to the inflorescence branches. The spikelets are a bit large and with too few florets to fit the common species of Puccinellia. The habitat in pine duff suggest acid substrates, which would not be expected for the alkaline- or saline-inhabiting Puccinellia species.
