Description

Hanoi has an extensive public bus system, though few tourists take advantage of the rock-bottom fares (3000d). If you’re game, pick up the Xe Buyt Ha Noi (Hanoi bus map; 5000d) from the Thang Long bookshop. The name of the district means West Lake, which is named after the West Lake located within the district.

Thanks to its close proximity to central Hanoi and scenery of the West Lake, Tây Hồ is a high-end residential area, housing a large population of expatriates. Many streets in the district are named after renowned Vietnamese poets, artists and music composers, such as Xuân Diệu, Tô Ngọc Vân, Trịnh Công Sơn, Nguyễn Đình Thi and Đặng Thai Mai. en.wikipedia.org
