English: Public footpath. This north-westerly facing photograph shows a public footpath connecting Pilsley (ahead) with Cocktop (a farm behind the viewpoint).
In the foreground of the picture is a 623296 crossing one of the tributaries of Westwood Brook. Before the Five Pits Trail was constructed the footpath ahead ran (and legally still does) toward Station Road (seen in the distance) in Pilsley. With the opening of the trail the section from here to Pilsley became rarely used because the trail is much easier underfoot and also because this section runs parallel with the trail, which is just to the left of the picture. A fingerpost just behind the viewpoint marks the point at which the 'new' and 'old' routes converge.
