Description |
Pteromalidae Dalman, 1820 English: A hyperparasitoid chalcid wasp (fam. Pteromalidae) on the cocoons of its host, a braconid wasp (probably Cotesia or Apanteles of the subfamily Microgastrinae) which is itself a koinobiont parasitoid of Lepidoptera. The whole setup at Lake Malawi National Park. Cape Maclear, Malawi. Ecology corroborated and taxonomy courtesy of Simon van Noort PhD, Curator of Entomology, Iziko South African Museum. |
