Image title | Histiophryne psychedelica; Ambon, Indonesia This recently discovered and named frogfish (Pietsch, Arnold and Hall, 2009) probably traps prey as it enters tight holes in coral; this behavior has never before been documented for a frogfish. Unlike other members of the family, the psychedelic frogfish possesses no lure. In this photograph the fish has worked itself well into a hole, with only its caudal fin (tail fin) still clearly visible.. |
