JPEG file comment | Organiser 1 electronic organiser/calculator, made by Psion, British, 1984. The Psion ?Organiser? went on sale in 1984. Hailed as ?the world?s first pocket computer?, the Organiser combined calculator functions with an electronic organiser. Additional applications could be added by inserting pre-programmed cartridges, called ?DATAPAKS?. The Science Museum?s example has an 8k DATAPAK for storage and a Psion produced ?Math PAK? with maths software pre-loaded onto it. Psion built up a loyal following of users who enjoyed the versatility and functionality of the devices in their range of Organisers. |
