Native, warm-season, perennial, mat-forming grass, which spreads by stolons and grows to 80 cm tall (usually much less). Turf-like when growing on the waters edge, but can form floating masses when growing in water. Grows in, or on the edge of permanent or ephemeral water bodies. Usually found in shallower water than water couch. Here growing with princes feather (Persicaria orientalis), Eleocharis equisetina and water couch (Paspalum distichum) |
