DescriptionPsathyrella candolleana spores 5 crop.jpg |
English: microscopic image of the spores of Psathyrella candolleana from Annadel State Park, Sonoma County, Santa Rosa, California, USA These had purplish spores averaging about 9.0 X 5.2 microns. They didn’t seem to be particularly hygrophanous. The caps were up to 4.2 cm across and the gills adnexed. Some of the cap edges had veil remnants but the stipes were fairly clean to slightly scruffy. The stipe was narrowly hollow. Most appeared to be growing on the ground but a couple of groups seemed to be growing on very old wood.
