Summary

Description Introduced, warm-season, perennial herb. Branches decumbent to 50 cm long, often with adventitious roots. Leaves are opposite, petiolate, ovate, 1.5–6 cm long and hairy, with entire or toothed margins. Flowerheads are spike-like. Flowers are deep purple-blue and 2-lipped. Flowering is from Nov to Apr. A native of Europe and temperate Asia,it grows in disturbed areas, particularly along roadsides, especially in moist sites.
