Summary

Description
This flag is fictitious, proposed, or locally used unofficially. It has not been adopted in an official capacity, and although it may be named as if it was an official flag of a geographical or other entity and have some visual elements that are similar to official logos or flags of that entity, it does not have any official recognition. A flag of this type should not be added to any articles or pages unless it is officially proposed by a government agency, covered by the media, or sees notable local use.
English: Proposal for a flag of East Anglia, UK, by George H Langham published in "Eastern Counties Magazine” Volume I, Number 3 in 1900. The flag includes coats of arms of councils of Bury St Edmunds, Ipswich, Great Yarnmouth, Norwich, Chelmsford, Colchester, King's Lynn, and Cambridge, as well as the arms of the University of Cambridge. In the centre is placed the attributed arms of East Anglia with crown of Saint Edward above. The arms are placed on a yellow field, symbolising East Anglia being the first region in England to bath in sunlight as well as the golden fields of ripe and corn familiar in the region's landscape. At the top and bottom are placed a red and blue stripe symbolising the region's contributions to the British army and navy, with Union Jack placed in the canton.
