Summary
[edit]DescriptionProphet Isaiah's Second Coming House, Niagara Falls, New York - 20200621 - 02.jpg |
English: As seen in June 2020: an off-the-beaten-path local landmark in Niagara Falls, New York is the so-called Prophet Isaiah's Second Coming House, at 1308 Ontario Avenue. The house was the brainchild of Isaiah Robertson, a Jamaican-born house flipper who had a religious vision wherein God told him that the end of the world would happen in Niagara Falls in 2014, the final judgment would happen on Goat Island, and the Niagara Whirlpool would turn into the Lake of Fire into which the wicked would be cast. Further, he was commanded to take his house and decorate it as garishly as possible with colorful wooden trinkets so that anyone who passed by would be so impressed and inspired that they'd be saved. The centerpiece of the decor scheme is the cross to the east of the house (seen at right), which stands 25 feet tall, supposedly the same height Christ would be at the Second Coming. Undeterred by the fact that his prophecy did not come to pass, Robertson continued his work until shortly before his death in January 2020. His widow continues to reside there. |
