Description
English: A process is a program in execution. The figure shows the structure of a process in memory. It includes the text section (program code), the process stack, which contains temporary data (such as function parameters, return addresses, and local variables), a data section, which contains global variables and a heap, which is memory that is dynamically allocated during process run time. After Abraham Silberschatz, Baer Galvin, Greg Gagne, Operating System Concepts, Ninth Edition, 2013, p. 106.
