Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Cavitation and fingering in viscous fluid under (PDMS with viscosity 1000 Pa.s) traction between two rigid plates. The cavities are disconnected from the outside and have a low pressure. At one point, one air finger suddenly reaches the cavities and fills them with air. Correspondingly, the force response drops suddenly (red curve) and a brief noise is measured (blue peak).
