Title |
Probable late medieval or early post-medieval copper alloy pennanular brooch. |
||
Description |
English: A copper alloy pennanular brooch, in excellent condition retaining a straight pin, which is attached by being folded around the frame of the brooch. The faces of the brooch are flattened and the only decoration is a series of angled grooved lines on one side. The terminals are rounded in shape and flattened in section, becoming thinner and tapering towards the ends. Probably late medieval or early post-medieval 14th-16th/17th centuries, due to the condition of the find and the unusual simplistic style. |
