Title
Probable Roman Glass Bead
Description
English: A blue glass bead of possible Roman date. It is circular in shape with a small central circular perforation. The bead measures 7.59mm in diameter, 3.41mm in thickness, and weighs 0.30g. It was found whilst metal detecting on a site known to produce Roman finds. Similar beads recorded from Suffolk (see for example SF-EB5C13, SF-9FA3C3, SF-608C77 and SF-E1AE71) and one example from Roman Colchester (Crummy, 1983: no. 614) suggest a probable Roman date for this example.
