Description |
English: Private William Dean, 18th Hussars was born in 1893[?] in Colne. He joined the army in February 1910. According to the contributor he was aged 19 yrs 5 months and spent 5 years in the reserves.
He was gassed while serving in France and spent time in hospital. He was killed 10 February 1916 aged 23 [?] buried at Vermelles, France. He was shot dead in France from a bullet which passed through his cap badge. Please note that Liz Danskin is in fact the cataloguer, who has entered this data on behalf of contributor Joanne Dean. |
