Description
English: This is an image of prison education in NSW. It was obtained from a box donated to the State Archives and Records Authority of New South Wales by Corrective Services NSW. The box was labelled '(Glass) Negatives c.1880s-1960s' and the image was labelled 'CS7652 Prisoners in classroom instruction'. The image's description had the word 'Tuncurry?' with the question mark, indicating it was likely taken at Tuncurry afforestation camp, which was closed in 1938. Based on the collection it was stored it I can tell you with the utmost certainty it was taken at one of the afforestation prison camps in NSW. The image has been reduced to 10% of its original dimension; the original file could not be uploaded as it was above the 100MB limit.
