English: Priory earthworks e medieval nunnery of St Mary stood on this site. Founded in the 12th century, it was dissolved in 1539. Clear water management can be seen in the bottom of the valley, with evidence of a series of fishponds. The site of the medieval village of Orford lays to the North of the priory site. |
