"Patriotic Roll
I pledge allegiance to my Flag, my Country and my God
'It's your Flag and my Flag,
It proudly floats today
O'er your Land and my Land,
And half the world, away.
All hail proud Flag, our own Flag,
Flag of the brave and free.
There's no Flag like our Flag
Afloat o'er land or sea.'
We believe it to be a patriotic duty to uphold the ideals of the founders of our Country - to Honour our King; Respect the Flag; Revere the Sabbath; Maintain British Justice; Love our Country; Obey her Laws: and
We believe that the call of the hour is the call to Youth to enter the lists against that great enemy of the race - Alcohol: I therefore affirm my intention to abstain from, personally, and to refuse to purchase for others, all alcoholic liquors as a beverage; and that as a patriot, I will enroll for service under the banner of the New Crusade"

One of a number of items which originally belonged to Cecil and Elizabeth Argue of Deseronto, Ontario. Donated to the Archives in October 2013. Jack (John) West Argue was Cecil and Mary's son, born in 1914.
