Notes After a design by Raphael, the preparatory drawing for which is in the Uffizi (inv.525E). A second drawing associated with the print is at Windsor (inv.00117) and depicts a landscape with ruins of the Roman Forum. The inscription on the term derives from Canto III of Virgil's Aeneid.
