English: Third state. Portrait bust of J. A. Meissonnier facing three quarters to his right in oval frame on which is written "JUSTUS AURELIUS MEISSONNIER ARCHITECTURAM UNIVERSAM LIBRIS IV TRACTAVIT." The portrait is surrounded by a cartouche consisting of a shell (lower center), a globe (lower left), book (lower right), and acanthus leaves (flanking portrait).
