Nederlands: Prinsengracht 2 heeft trapgevels naar 2 zijden, iets wat maar zelden voorkomt. De horizontale banden van natuursteen en de blokken in de vensterbogen zijn karakteristiek voor de Amsterdamse renaissancestijl. Van binnen heeft het huis nog grotendeels zijn 17de-eeuwse indeling. Achter de houten pui is een hoog voorhuis, met daarachter de woonkamer en een insteekverdieping. De naam café "Papeneiland"verwijst naar een katholieke schuilkerk die tot 1860 in dit huizenblok gelegen was.
