Description
English: Coastal motor vessel PRINS BERTIL (IMO 5285112) built at Schulte & Bruns, Abteilung Werft- & Dockbetrieb, Emden/Germany (yard № 12, launched: 01-04-1922, delivered: 17-07-1922) as fishing vessel MEMEL (AE5) for Emder Heringsfischerei AG, Emden, 1940-1945 seized by Kriegsmarine (German Navy) and used as supply vessel, 22-08-1945 returned to Emder Heringsfischerei AG, 1953 sold to Helmut Bastian, Bremen, and converted to general cargo ship (Diesel engine 210 hp), 06-1954 sold to Arthur E. Henriksson, Göteborg, and renamed PRINS BERTIL, 1957 lengthened (229 gt, 32,55 m, new Diesel engine 330 hp), 1966 sold to K.G. Karlsson, Göteborg, and renamed OCEAN, 05-08-1972 foundered 7 nm SW Falkenberg, Sweden; collection J. Robert Boman (1926 - 2002) owned by Sjöhistoriska museet.
