Description

Příbram - Uranium refuse pile

We didn't have the time to explore or climb these beautiful artificial mountains. But I brought a rock home with me. I wonder if it's radioactive :-)

In July my son and I explored the industrial areas of the Czech Republic. The visit to Příbram was one of the high points of the expedition. We explored and photographed the ancient mine tunnels, the heating factory, the uranium mines, the communist concentration camp and a semi deserted (ex) military area. Everything was very photogenic and full of great textures. It is wry and ironic that evil landscapes have more character than good ones.
