Summary
[edit]DescriptionPretty Waists (fashion vignette - March 12 1904).jpg |
English: "No. 1 is made of navy blue pongee, trimmed with parrot green straps. The yoke effect is accomplished by buttoning in front; the chemisette, with a fancy stock, is transparent. The colors of the waist are repeated in the edging and embroidery of the stock. The strap down the sleeve affects long 1830 shoulder style. The bodice in front opens under the front strap and is put on over the head.
No. 2 shows a military waist with stitching and gold braid ornaments on the shoulders. The under collar is narrow gold braid set closely over the material. No. 3 is a neat design for a crepe de chine or a silk waist. The shoulder tucks are becoming to a slender person . The vest is of finely tucked white silk or white crepe de chine. The waist opens and is line back with white, and little gold buttons are ornamental at the opening. Gold braid is set upon a band of the vest material and outlines the vest." |
