English: Vung Tau, South Vietnam. 8 December 1971. South Vietnam's President Thieu (left) presents a gift to Lieutenant Chris Stephens of St. Lucia, Qld, the officer in charge of the remaining Australian cavalry elements in Vietnam. The presentation was aboard HMAS Sydney prior to its departure for Australia with the main body of 4RAR /NZ (ANZAC) (The ANZAC Battalion comprising 4th Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment and a component from the 1st Battalion, Royal New Zealand Infantry Regiment). |
