Description
English: President Bush goes for a hike on the South Kaibab Trail at the Grand Canyon in Arizona.
  • The view is centered on the east side of Bright Angel Canyon, with Sturdevant Point overlooking Granite Gorge. Behind the point on the 'ridgeline' is Buddha Temple; in the back the North Rim is seated on Kaibab Plateau, with Grama Point, Tiyo Point and Widforss Point.
  • The slope-forming Muav, Bright Angel sit on the Tapeats Sandstone-(the 3 of the Tonto Group), on the Granite Gorge edge. The platform with base of the Tapeats erosion-resistant unit is the Tonto Platform, location of the Tonto Trail—(south side of Granite Gorge).
