Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Art Curator Sarah Forgey explains to Under Secretary of the Army Joseph W. Westphal techniques implied to ensure the preservation of the Army's collection of delicate art on paper at the U.S. Army Center of Military History's Museum Support Center Facility, May 30, 2012, at Fort Belvoir, Va. Works of art on paper are individually stored in custom-sized folders within flat file drawers, which prevent damage to the art by light and gravity. The artwork shown is Stewart Broyles's Yankee Joe, watercolor on paper, 1942. Westphal visited the Museum Support Center Facility to gain situational awareness and view the impressive collection of over 16,000 pieces of American history housed in the state-of-the-art facility.
