Description
English: Preserved RATP bus 7687 (reg. 177 QDV 75), a 1977 Saviem SC10 UMR, pictured at the London Transport Museum's Acton depot. The SC10 was an integrally built bus designed by the Paris transit authority RATP in conjunction with other operators to meet a demand for a standardised post-war French urban bus. With over 11,000 built in various guises from 1965 to 1989 it became the archetypal Paris city bus, which took over 4,000 examples. 7687 was one of the 1977 intake, which after withdrawal from normal service in 1996 it was retained by RATP for active preservation, occasionally appearing on special services. In 2008 it was gifted to the London museum, who use it to draw similarities and distinctions between the significance of the SC10 as a Parisian icon to the London equivalent, the Routemaster.
