Description
English: Preserved Maidstone & District bus 5385 (reg. LKP 385P), a 1975 Volvo Ailsa B55 double-decker with Alexander AV bodywork, pictured in Faversham market during the 2011 Faversham Historic Vehicle Weekend.

M&D bought 5 such vehicles in December 1975 as a double-decker comparison trial for the National Bus Company, alongside MCW Metropolitans and Bristol VRT/3's. This was the last of the batch, which was numbered 5381 to 5385 (LKP 381-385P). The company opted for the Bristol, leaving the Ailsa's as non-standard in the fleet.

It's displaying the route number 333, one of the company's longer inter-urban routes running from Faversham to Maidstone, still used to this day by M&D's successor Arriva (although it was probably never operated by M&D's Ailsas).
